Tilean Team Cup 2017 / Predatori Firenze

We don’t want Blood…we want Death!

This is the motto that announces the presence of Predatori on the pitch, and since its foundation, back in 2009, our club has constantly grown both in number and in team spirit, becoming one of the country’s most numerous, not ot mention one of the most fearsome.

To date, we have no less thant 50 active players in the area of Florence and of central Tuscany, with yearly events such as a League, a Cup and a mini-team tournament. Moreover, we’re in charge of the organization of the yearly Harpastum tournament, which routinely sees coaches from all over Italy compete for the top spot.

timetable management /

Timetable management
Coaches will be given a maximum allowance of 135 minutes per match: once said limit is reached, the match will be stopped with the “Hands off the table!” approach. Should one or both coaches be manifestly playing too slow, after the first 60 minutes the organizers will be able to impose the use of a chess clock.

Coaches will be given the opportunity to reach an agreement regarding the use of a chess clock, and/or of the same set of dice, before the match begins. Coaches are strongly encouraged to abide by the rules of a gentlemen’s agreement – we’re here, first and foremost, to have fun, on both sides of the pitch.

In any case, the time allowance for the match is non-negotiable: should a team’s captain fail to communicate the collective result of his team to the organizers no later than 5 minutes after the general countdown has been reached, both teams playing at the table in question will receive a 500 points penalty. The general countdown timer will be visible from any and all tables.

Tardiness/lateness management
A coach will be considered to be present at the table once both him and his pieces are physically at the table. Delays of up to 15 minutes (counted using the general countdown timer) will not be sanctioned, but the coach will have to apologize to his opponent at the very least.

Regarding delays between 15 and 30 minutes, the match will begin as usual, but from turn 3 onwards, and the coach that has been waiting for his opponent will be given a starting score of 1-0.

Delays of more than 30 minutes will result in no match being played: the final result will be 2-0 (2-0) in favour of the coach that was present at the table on schedule.

Score /

Team scores will be calculated based on the sum of the results of each team’s members:

– Victory: 2 points
– Draw: 1 point
– Loss: 0 points
– Conceded match: -2 points (TDs 0-2, CAS 0-2)

Moreover, a team bonus will be applied, depending on the overall result of the team:
– Victory: 500 points
– Draw: 200 points
– Loss: 0 points

Should a team fail to send the rosters on time, they will suffer a 100 points penalty in the general ranking.

Should a team fail to send the rosters at all, they will suffer a 250 points penalty in the general ranking.

In the case of equal scores between two or more teams, the following factors, in this order of importance, will be used to calculate both individual and collective ranking scores:

– Straight-up match (to be used only if all teams in questions have played against each other, in order to use an equal standard)
– (TD difference x3) + (CAS difference x2)
– TD difference
– CAS difference
– TDs
– CAS inflicted
– Draw lots

The tournament is NAF sanctioned.

Awards:
– First, second and third place (teams);
– First, second and third place (single coaches).
– Most TDs (team)
– Most CAS (team)
– Best defense (team)

Should two or more teams have the same points, the combination of teams with the higher standing in the general ranking will be awarded the prize in question.

Bob's Interview / from GoForIt

commentatori

There would be no one better suited to tell the history and origins of Predatori than our “Shadow Shogun” Mickael. Here, therefore, is the content of an interview that he agreed to give, for quite the hefty sum, to Cabal Vision’s own Bob Bifford.

Well Bob, with the starting box and two team boxes of the glorious third edition, followed by the first matches - but I soon lost focus, swiftly taking refuge in my dear Bretonnia, back in what then was the Old World. Fast forward to 2006, when Anto introduced me to FUMBBL and to the coaches of Florence. A League swiftly ensued with them, and Puppolo, already known in the national scene, was among them - and it is also thanks to him that I was able to participate in the 2009 TTC, together with Miffo, Brenzo and Anto. That is when I definitely fell in love with Blood Bowl.

Well, little by little, the group of friends that tried their hand at Blood Bowl grew, and the first Predatori event soon followed: Predatori Smack Series I, with II and III following right behind it. Some of the “old-timers”, such as Bonjino and Molok, joined the club, and the step-up from one-day events to a League was an easy one to make. The first one, the PBBL, started on Nov. 1st, 2010, but we still couldn’t count on a reliable core of stable players, even though we already had important ties with the Tilean tournaments, and in 2011 the first Florentinum Harpastum tournament took place, with no less than 9 of our players participating and some satisfying final results. That year, the first version of our logo, the Spiked Lily, came to be as well, and our name officially became Predatori Firenze. Between 2011 and 2013, then, some of our most persistent players (Puppolo, Barbossa, Molok, Verrinho and so on) became increasingly known in the national BB scene, and in the meantime our usual events keep on going on and on becoming more populated - and, our community does not become weaker because of this. Quite the opposite, in fact.
Well, in a nutshell, one of the most numerous Blood Bowl clubs of Italy: in the last 5 years we have organized around 15 competitions, and to this day, no less than 55 coaches are, or have been, members of our club, for a total of over 600 matches played. We have a Managerial Council to organize and schedule the everyday life of our association, and we’ve been enjoying, since way before the revamp of the game on Games Workshop’s part, a steady flow of new players wishing to carry the flag of our Spiked Lily with honor and pride.
